COCO's Winter Ball Works Wonders for Children In Tanzania!

200 COCO supporters from across the North East joined Steve Cram at COCO’s Winter Wonderland Ball at the Discovery Museum this weekend, helping to raise almost £28,000!

Funds raised will help to establish a Vocational Training Centre for young people in Songea, Tanzania. Pupils at the VTC will learn Maths and English alongside their chosen trade, gaining valuable skills to support themselves and their families.

Guests from Howie White Resourcing, Sage Plc, Durham University, Dunelm Property Services, Eversheds, Northumbria University, The Baltic, North Tees Trust, Daisy Green, Carol Barwick Associates, Sunderland University and Kent Design as well as many individuals attended the event to help make the night a huge success.

We are so grateful to all the companies that donated prizes for the event and to all our guests who gave so generously on the night, helping to make a real difference to children’s futures.”


North East supporters Northumbrian Water, Tyneside Audi, Vitesse Super Car Club, Aspers Casino, White Hot Communications, Centre for Life, Newcastle Vipers, Newcastle Eagles, Hilton Hotel, Hayes Travel, Costello Food Company, David Lawson Studios, Slaley Hall, Daisy Green, Starters and Puds, Northern Stage and the Swallow Hotel all donated fabulous auction and raffle prizes on the night to help raise funds.

“Thanks to the fantastic support of our guests and donors, COCO will be able to establish a Vocational Training Centre for young people in Songea, one of the poorest regions in Tanzania. Pupils will learn Maths and English alongside their chosen trade to support themselves and their families. 67 guests also pledged towards two years education for secondary school pupils, helping some of the world’s most vulnerable children look forward to brighter futures”.
