"I am very happy in my head and I am even happy in my body too."
Marigoleth is 45 years old. She lives in Tanga in Southern Tanzania with her three children. In 2014 her life changed when she received a small loan of less than £20 which she used to set up a restaurant.
After her husband sadly died, Marigoleth was struggling to provide for her children and was worried about her family's future. She received a small loan from COCO's partner organisation Hoja Project and set up a restaurant and shop with a business partner, which she soon took over herself.
She invested her profits in agriculture training, closed her shop, and began to focus on her restaurant and farm. Her restaurant is very busy in the morning and evening and her farm is successful.
Marigoleth can now afford to comfortably provide for her family. Two of her children are in secondary school and the third is married. She even has plans to further extend her farm, convert her restaurant into a permanent shop and to establish a lodge on some land her husband bought.
