COCO's Vision - What motivates us and our promises

Our Vision:

To protect and enrich the lives of vulnerable children through poverty reduction, education and improved health.

Our Motivation:

1 billion children worldwide live in poverty and an estimated 18 million people, mostly women and children, die due to poverty-related causes each year.

Our Belief:

COCO assists orphans and vulnerable children regardless of race, religion or gender. We believe that all children are entitled to healthcare and education, regardless of the lives they are born into.

Our Promise:

As a small charity we aim to direct resources effectively to support projects that are needs centred, efficient and sustainable. Transparency and accountability, to both our recipients and our donors, are regarded as paramount to the success of our organisation.

COCO's primary purpose is to alleviate the suffering of children living in poverty, through health and education initiatives. COCO prefers to fund small, specific projects, where our assistance will make the biggest difference possible through education-based schemes, which represent an investment in, and commitment to a brighter future for the children and their country.

COCO regards education as vital, of long lasting impact; an essential ingredient for poverty alleviation. COCO uses innovative ways of tackling child poverty and the factors that cause it. COCO's projects empower children, allowing them greater control over their destiny and the power to change their future for the better. COCO projects are aimed at long-term sustainability and inclusion of the most vulnerable children.

As a charity, COCO realise how important it is for people to know where their money goes. COCO are able to account for every last penny and we work hard to ensure that we maximise the funds that go directly to projects in some of the world's poorest countries. We work very closely with people in the community to ensure that they make key decisions as to how donations are spent.

Through our projects, COCO aims to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger and improve access to education in conjunction with local communities and partners in developing countries. Our projects are designed to meet the needs of the local communities whilst attempting to address global hindrances to development such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and gender inequality.
