"I am very happy for getting knowledge and skills in sustainable agriculture." - Mama Ester
Mama Ester is a single mother to six children living in Bwayi in Western Kenya. Since receiving sustainable agriculture, Ester has been able to grow vegetables to feed her children, selling some to pay for medication, mosquito nets and her children's school fees.
The majority of people in Bwayi generate an income by working on large scale farms for as little as 50p / day, and the recent pandemic has even taken away this small amount of income. Ester has still been able to grow food to feed her family, but even those able to farm their own land have been unable to sell their produce at market.
Ester helps her community by sharing what she can with vulnerable families in the community, and wishes that more women could have the opportunity to learn sustainable agriculture techniques.
Donate to our #NeverMoreNeeded campaign today to empower more women like Ester with the skills to be able to support themselves and their families through this difficult time.
