Maasai Academy

Maasai Academy was established in 2008 to address the concerns of parents within the village regarding the standard of education offered by the government to their children.

Since beginning our partnership with Maasai Academy, COCO has funded the construction of five classrooms which have allowed the school to continue grow year on year. COCO has also worked with the school to construct a new kitchen, a food store, a sports field, a water supply to the shamba (Swahili for farm), 5 toilets (for students and staff) and training for teaching staff. These improvements have helped to create a quality learning environment which provides an opportunity for children living in a very remote area of Kenya to break the cycle of poverty.
