Tanzania Day at Seaton Sluice

Pupils at Seaton Sluice First School had a fantastic day learning about Tanzania by singing songs, painting pictures, dressing in the colours of the Tanzanian flag, and of course eating cake!

Working with schools in the UK is very important. Educating children in the UK about different cultures helps these children grow up in a global community. Friendships with children in East Africa help children in both areas understand what it is like to grow up in another place and to recognise the similarities in their lives.

Seaton Sluice First School is partnering with MCODE Nursery, which is located on the foothills of Kilimanjaro in Northern Tanzania. As well as raising money to buy furniture for the nursery, the two nurseries also exchange letters and photographs to cultivate friendships and learn about life in the two different communities.

Thank you so much to the staff and students at Seaton Sluice for organising such a great event - it looks like you all had a lot of fun!
