International Women’s Day 2021

Ordinarily, once a year, COCO supporters get together at the Newcastle University Business School to celebrate International Women's Day and discuss key issues facing women in our communities that year. Unfortunately, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic meant we couldn't hold this year's event in person so instead we teamed up with our friends at #NurtureYourZest and Teakisi to create a virtual version of the event.

The theme of this year's event was 'Celebrating Black Women in Leadership Who #ChooseToChallenge'. Five different speakers talked about the subject including COCO CEO, Lucy Philipson, who talked about challenges faced by women in communities COCO work with in Bwayi, Western Kenya.

If you missed any of the event or would like to watch again you can catch up on both the live talks and the Q&A on the links below.
