Mercy Primary Classroom Progress

A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported our appeal to build a new classroom at Mercy Primary School in Kenya. Previously, students were learning in temporary classrooms made of corrugated iron, which were hot, dark and dangerous. One year group will soon have a safe, light, cool classroom to work in, with space to put learning materials on the wall.

Regent Farm First School in Gosforth have a partnership with Mercy Primary and contributed over £2,000 to the building. Fellside Primary School and Newcastle High School for Girls Junior School took part in the Newcastle International Film Festival Fun Run to raise funds. We think it is pretty amazing that students here in the North East are having such a positive impact on the lives of students in East Africa. Thank you!

Here are a few photos of the classroom's progress:

We can't wait to see the finished building!

Although it's fantastic news that Mercy Primary have this new classroom, there are still 7 other year groups studying in corrugated iron classrooms. Email hello@coco.org.uk if you'd like to raise the funds for the next classrooms.
